Okang Ashiwel's space

i call
through this black
and white haze
that kills all my
efforts to find my
way out of this maze.

i call from the
depths of an almost
broken heart;
they tried but they
couldn't break it
so they pulled it into
tiny strips and
put it through a shredder.

i call from the
disappointment in my
inability to inspire world change.

but this is my gethsemane.
i'm going to make it through
these bleak nights

and maybe one day,
all of the world can see
my pen bleed words.
